In 2018 a team from our Head Office and warehouse battled wind, rain and snow to cycle as many miles as we could in one day along the Camel Trail in Cornwall, raising over £1100 for Sport Relief. When they contacted us about supporting them again in 2020 we jumped at the chance and added it to our 30 for 30 Charity Challenge List.
Sport Relief is all about using sport as a powerful tool to inspire people to get involved, so we wanted to make sure the challenge we choose would be accessible to as many of our Cornish team as we could. In the end, we came up with a two-part challenge!
The Challenge
On Friday 13th March we will get the donations started with a Bake Sale, then on Saturday the 14th the main event will take place. We’ve called it the 8 Hour Challenge and we will be aiming to do as many laps around a local reservoir as we can within an 8 our time limit.
We selected Siblyback reservoir as it is local to our Head Office in Cornwall and will suit all abilities as the 3-mile circular loop is almost completely flat. The 8-hour time limit allows people to take part throughout the day and is the same as a normal shift in our warehouse.
Our target is to raise £250 across the two days and whether those taking part are planning to eat, walk, jog, run or cycle we want to raise as much as we can for Sport Relief.
How can you help?
Sport Relief works with organisations in the UK and around the world to tackle child poverty, mental health and domestic abuse, and uses sport as a powerful tool that inspires communities to work together and build friendships.
Help us by supporting this fantastic organisation this March. Friends and family are welcome to join the team on March 14th between 8:30am and 4:30pm as every lap around the reservoir counts. You can also donate to our just giving page.
