EDC Update

Our European Distribution Centre project is moving forward quickly and since our last update we have recruited the first 2 members of the warehouse team and moved forward with internal building works and logistics.

Staffing

Finding the right team for our Polish Warehouse was top of our to do list, and we are delighted to announce the recruitment of our EDC Logistics Manager Piotr Świstak.  He commenced employment with Puckator at the end of May and will be coming over to the UK later in the summer to meet our UK team and for familiarization and training on our warehouse processes.  Find out a bit more about Piotr in the quick Q&A below.

  1. What was your first job?

So, my first job was in Material Management team in LG Electronics Wroclaw. I came for a summer job, stayed for 9 years.

  1. Coffee or tea?

Tea, the greener the better. Gunpowder is my tea of choice.

  1. What three items would you bring on a desert island?

For a desert island… machete, rope and salt.

  1. What’s your favourite food?

About food. I’m on a seafood diet. I see food – I eat food. Especially Italian.

  1. From a scale of 1 to 10: how much are you exciting to start your new Puckator’s role?

I’m super-excited to be a part of project this huge and I’m glad that Management chooses me for this role.

Piotr not only brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience, but he also recommended Arek Kuzaj as a candidate for the warehouse manager position.  Last week Arek accepted the role with Puckator and will be joining the team at the end of the summer.  

Building Works & Stock

Internal office building works are continuing with a scheduled date of completion of the 1st of August.  As well as the offices, the final preparations are being made for the warehouse fittings and machinery including racking, Wi-Fi, and security.

Our buying and IT teams are also pushing forward with the system development and integration for managing and fulfilling from two warehouses.  A lot of time has gone into the planning and restructuring, with testing planned for July when the first stock arrives in Poland.

This continues to be a very exciting project and we are well on track for the 1st of October target date, further updates to follow soon.
