Our designers have taken their cue from the bold colours and large, endearing features of this look to create an animal-themed range that appeals to all ages.
Kawaii is the culture of cuteness in Japan and can be associated with humans, animals and objects – anything shy, sweet, innocent and adorable. It has long been a staple part of Japanese life, and clothing, furniture, mannerisms and even food can be considered Kawaii!
The iconic Hello Kitty was probably the first proponent of Kawaii to be known more widely around the world. Pokemon characters Pikachu and friends are more recent examples that have reached a global audience. With anime gaining more mainstream popularity in Europe, the huge eyes and childlike appeal of these characters is now a part of western culture too, and Kawaii officially entered the Collins dictionary in 2014 (along with photobomb and bake off!)
Puckator's Cutiemals take inspiration from this phenomenon with our own interpretation of the trend.
This is an ever-expanding collection with hundreds of product lines to choose from to suit your store. From eraser-topped pencils and keyrings to earphones, eye masks and beauty accessories, we're finding that the possibilities for these cute characters are endless!
You'll find homewares and ceramics too, and we've got new lines arriving each week into the spring - we'll be letting you know about them in the newsletter updates.
Among our top sellers from the Cutiemals collection so far are the children's porcelain mug and bowl sets. Equally adorable (and collectable) are the Cutiemal animal-head mugs – it's too tricky to choose between them!
Many of the items in this range are great for travellers, commuters or students. Here in the Puckator office our current favourites are the travel pillow and plush eye-mask sets, and the character backpacks, which worn on both shoulders perfectly sum up the city-cute Kawaii look!
